Tengiz field has only 8 thousand tons of sulphur

ATYRAU. KAZINFORM - About only 8 thousand tons of sulphur is left at the Tengiz field in field, the press service of "Tengizchevroil" JSC informs.
"Tengizchevroil" JSC sold 910 thousand tons of sulphur in the first quarter of the year. This is 146% of the produced 628 thousand tons. It allowed to reduce the amount of stored sulphur to 8 thousand tons as of March 31, 2015. Presently, "Tengizchevroil" JSC sells high-quality sulphur to the countries from the Mediterranean region and Central Asian, Russia, Ukraine and China," the press service informs.
As earlier reported, in the early 2000s, the volume of stored sulphur at the Tengiz field reached 9 million tons. The company had to pay environmental fines totaling billions.
