Temperatures to plunge sharply this weekend in Kazakhstan
Snowfall is forecast for most regions of Kazakhstan due to the Atlantic cyclone in upcoming three days. A mix of rain and snow is expected in southern parts of the country, Kazinform News Agency reports.
According to Kazhydromet, national weather agency, on Jan.6 heavy snowfall and a mix of rain and snow are to hit the northwest and south, respectively. Chances of heavy snowfall will be high in the northwest, north and center on Jan. 7-8.
Blizzard and icy conditions coupled with heavy precipitation are predicted in northern Kazakhstan. Foggy conditions and gusty wind will be observed across the country as well.
Temperature is set to dip sharply in western, northwestern, northern and eastern Kazakhstan. Mercury will plunge to -8, -25°C in the west and northwest, -5, -30°C in the north and -5, -18°C in the east.
