Team Kazakhstan takes part in 20th Winter Deaflympic Games opening ceremony
Kazakhstani athletes participated in the unveiling ceremony of the 20th Winter Deaflympic Games in Erzurum, Türkiye, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

The event brought together over a thousand of athletes from 36 countries of the world. 34 sets of medals in six sports will be up for grabs at the 20th Winter Deaflympic Games. 26 athletes will represent Kazakhstan at the event and compete for medals in chess, snowboarding and cross-country skiing.

Bronze medalist of the world chess championships Sultan Kozhakhmetov was honored to bear Kazakhstan’s flag at the opening ceremony of the 20th Winter Deaflympic Games in Erzurum.

This is the third time Team Kazakhstan is taking part in the Deaflympic Games. After rigorous training sessions in Shchuchinsk and Almaty region they are more than ready to vie for medals.
The 20th Winter Deaflympic Games are set to run through March 12.
