Tashkent holds reception on the occasion of Independence Day of Kazakhstan
"The undoubted achievement of independent Kazakhstan is the capital of our country - Astana which has become not only one of the drivers of the dynamic development of the state but also one of the leading regional dialogue platforms. The progressive enhancement of the capital contributed to its election as the venue for the International Exhibition "Expo-2017" themed "Future Energy", said Boribay Zheksembin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.
"Today we have come close to solving the problem posed by the head of our state a few years ago - to become one of the fifty most competitive countries in the world. Particular attention is paid to improving the living standards of the population. GDP per capita exceeded USD 12 million. Since 2010 there has been implemented a program of forced Industrial- Innovative Development. In the framework of the program there have been already developed more than 250 new products which are being exported to 110 countries around the world", said the Ambassador.
Zheksembin noted that the Kazakh-Uzbek relations acquired a new look. In June of the current year, the official visit of our President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Tashkent was marked by the signing of the Strategic Partnership treaty between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan share common positions on many important issues of regional and international agenda actively cooperating within the framework of international and regional organizations.
Kazakhstan is one of the three largest trade partners of Uzbekistan. In the first nine months of this year trade turnover amounted to USD 2.5 billion and increased by 28% in comparison with the past year. "An important aspect of bilateral relations remains cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Kazakh and Uzbek people share similar national customs and traditions, a common language and culture", said the head of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Gulomjon Ibragimov, senior officials of state bodies and public organizations, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Uzbekistan as well as representatives of the Kazakh Diaspora.
