Tajikistan to become full member of WTO in March 2013

BAKU. February 4. KAZINFORM Instrument of ratification of the protocol on Tajikistan's accession to the Marrakesh Agreement, the foundation document for the WTO, was presented to the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations and other international organizations, Ambassador Salohiddin Nasriddinov, in Geneva, CA-News reports on Saturday.

According to the Department of Information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, a meeting between Nasriddinov and the Deputy Director General of the WTO, Alejandro Jara was held on Thursday in Geneva.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude of Tajik President to the leadership of the WTO and stated that upon accession to the WTO, Tajikistan will meet its commitments and actively participate in the activities of the Organization.

Alejandro Jara congratulated Tajik side and stressed that Tajikistan will become a full member of the WTO on March 2, 2013.

The Protocol for Tajik membership in the international organization was signed on December 10, 2012 by President Emomali Rahmon and WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy during a special session of the General Council of WTO.
