Tajikistan President backs idea of holding OSCE Summit in Astana

DUSHANBE. May 19. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has fully supported the need to hold the OSCE Summit in Astana in 2010.
OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Kazakh Secretary of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev held talks with the Tajik President in Dushanbe on Wednesday.
A wide array of topics regarding the bilateral relations and cooperation of Tajikistan with the OSCE was discussed.
"Emomali Rahmon absolutely supports the efforts of Nursultan Nazarbayev on regional cooperation and his contribution to settling the Afghan crisis", K. Saudabayev said. He noted that the issue of stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan would be one of the key problems at the summit in Astana.
