A 24-year-old college student died early Friday, less than one day after he was confirmed to have the virus, said the health department of Taitung county in southeast Taiwan.

He was admitted to a Taitung hospital on Aug. 11 after he showed cold symptoms. Tests at that time did not indicate A/H1N1. He later developed pneumonia symptoms and was transferred to another hospital in Taitung, where he was diagnosed as A/H1N1 positive on Thursday; Kazinform refers to China View.
