Survival percentage of leukemia patients in Kazakhstan – Minister of Health, S.Kairbekova

ASTANA.KAZINFORM - As Minister of Health, Salidat Kairbekova reported at the meeting on implementation of the President's Address to the Nation, held in the Republican Diagnostic Centre, 76 percent of children with leukemia survive in Kazakhstan
"Today, in the new conditions of financing and management, there are unlimited possibilities for innovative methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment. We have switched to an international protocol of treatment, especially in oncology which allows us to increase the survival rate of children with leukemia to 76 percent. Our doctors have mastered the technology of bone marrow transplantation, joint replacement, and much more, not to mention the cardiac surgery"- said S.Kairbekova.
The Minister assured that the Ministry of Health would take all necessary measures to implement the objectives outlined in the Head of State's Address.
