Strong quakes strike off resort island Bali

MOSCOW. September 19. KAZINFORM Two earthquakes, each measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale, stroke off Bali and North Maluku on Saturday, injuring at least seven people and sending many others fleeing their homes in panic, the Jakarta Post said; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
The meteorology agency said on its website that the epicenter of one of the quakes was 101 km (62.7 miles) southeast of Nusa Dua at a depth of 36 km, the paper reported.
The other quake hit North Maluku with the epicenter located 117 km (72.7 miles) west of Ternate Sea at a depth of 92 kilometers; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
