Strengthening fight against corruption - important factor in overcoming crisis

ASTANA. February 25. KAZINFORM Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev has chaired first session of the Commission on Fighting against Corruption under the RK President in Akorda Palace today, Kazinform reports.
The agenda of the sitting included summing up the results of implementation of the first stage (2006-2008) of the 2006-2010 State Program on fighting against corruption, fulfillment of the President?s instructions on enhancement of struggle against corruption as well as consideration of corruption rating in state bodies.
Chairman of the Agency for fighting against economic and corruption crimes Kairat Kozhamzharov, first Deputy Prosecutor General Johann Merkel, Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Bakhyt Sultanov, Acting Chairman of the Public Administration Agency Aryn Orsariyev made reports.
Following the session, the Commission recommended the relevent state bodies to take comprehensive measures on fulfillment of the President?s instructions on struggle against corruption and accelerate adoption of a new Action Plan on realization of the second stage of the State Program for 2009-2010. In whole, the Commission endorsed the results of calculating the rating level of corruption in state bodies in 2008.
