Strategy of increasing competitiveness of region presented in Pavlodar

The strategy has three main goals for region development. These are ensuring sustainable development of the economic growth and welfare of the people, making a region a better place for life and self-realization, attraction of investments and creation of jobs. "In order to achieve the first goal, we will continue to stimulate the increase of the labour productivity and effectiveness of companies engaged in the key sectors. Besides, we have to concentrate on development of new sectors in the territory of the region," Governor of the region Kanat Bozumbayev noted. By new sectors the governor meant production of equipment for ore-mining sector, oil and gas field, energy sphere, chemistry and petro chemistry, development of the in-demand services. According to K. Bozumbayev, development of new sectors will allow to balance out the structure of the economy and increase the income of the people living in the region by 2030. "In order to achieve the second goal, we will be developing the agglomeration of Pavlodar city and Aksu town and attract talented youth, create favorable conditions for living, which provides favorable ecology in the region, affordable housing and high quality medical services," K. Bazumbayev emphasized. Besides, a number of serious projects are planned to be implemented in the region. These are establishment of the center of competence of ecotechnolgies and engineering center, development of "Pavlodar" special economic zone, establishment of technology parks on the basis of the institutes of the region, food logistics hub and international medical cardio center. According to the head of the region, implementation of the strategy will allow to register the economy growth at the level of 6-8% annually.
