Strategic Development Plan till 2020 promotes high investment activity and economic growth of Kazakhstan - Sergei Glazyev

Deputy Secretary General of the EurAsEC Sergei Glazyev has said it at a roundtable on the topic "The socio-economic results of the post-crisis development of the Customs Union states" in Moscow.

According to S.Glazyev, the model of economic development of Kazakhstan is characterized by a combination of liberal macroeconomic environment with the state efforts to assume responsibility for the issues of strategic development.

"As distinct from the Concept of Long-Term Socio-Economic Development of the Russian Federation which is of declarative character and is not burdened with the control mechanisms, Kazakhstan monitors implementation of Kazakhstan's Strategic Development Plan till 2020 and tries to direct investors' activity, outline priorities and create the corresponding efforts," S.Glazyev said.

"Kazakhstan has relatively easily overcome the global crisis, because the anti-recessionary measures were realized within this strategic plan. Despite all difficulties connected with the crisis, the Kazakh authorities drew a line on implementation of this plan, and as a result it allowed to get out of the crisis," Deputy Secretary General considers.

"Presence of the Strategic Development Plan attracts investors and promotes maintenance of the necessary level of the investment activity. This plan and discipline on its realization became a very important stimulating measure for conservation and recovery of the economic activity in Kazakhstan," S.Glazyev emphasized.

Leading economic scientists, state and public figures, representatives of the CIS business community participated in the discussion.
