Mets issued weather warnings for Astana and 14 regions of Kazakhstan for January 1, Kazinform News Agency cites Kazhydromet.
Ground blizzards will sweep tomorrrow through Karaganda, Aktobe, Ulytau and West Kazakhstan regions.
Ground blizzards and ice-slick are predicted to batter Astana, Akmola, Pavlodar, East Kazakhstan, Abai, and Kostanay regions. Slippery roads are expected to grip Mangistau region.
Turkistan and Zhambyl regions are to wake up to foggy streets.
North Kazakhstan is set to brace for snow, snow and rain mixed, snowstorms.
High wind gusting 15-20 m/s will rip through Atyrau region.
