On October 17, State Counselor Erlan Karin met the medalists  of the international school subject olympiads, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Akorda press service.

Addressing the attendees, Erlan Karin noted that Kazakh schoolchildren annually take prizes in numerous international intellectual competitions. For instance, 2024 alone saw Kazakh schoolchildren claim 26 medals.

He reminded that in a recent address at the 2nd Republican Forum of Maslikhat Deputies of all levels, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called on the Kazakhstani society to honor both the athletes and winners of intellectual olympiads and competitions.

Since 2022, on the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan, the winners of international school subject olympiads and their teachers have been awarded cash prizes.

The State Counselor emphasized that the government creates all conditions for full-fledged self-accomplishment of the younger generation, first of all, in the field of science and education.

At one of the meetings of the National Qurultay, the Head of State named education, science and culture an unshakable triad of the spiritual development of the Kazakh society and a basis for the formation of a new quality of the nation.

At the end of the meeting, the State Counselor once again congratulated the medalists of the olympiads, having noted that they had become a role-model of achieving success through hard work, creativity and innovation.

In September, the Ministry of Enlightenment of Kazakhstan announced cash prizes for 26 Kazakh school students – winners of the Top 7 international olympiads. The total amount of the prize money will exceed 77.5 million tenge.
