State Commission selects Abai State Prize nominees
State Counselor Erlan Karin has chaired today a final meeting of the Commission for awarding the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of literature and art named after Abai, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the press service of Akorda.
The Commission considered 21 works in the field of literature, film, music, theatre, architecture and art selected for the second stage of the contest for the Abai State Prize.
Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva reported on the results of public discussion of the works selected for the second stage.
Based on the results of a secret ballot, the Commission determined the nominees for the 2024 State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of literature and art named after Abai. Their candidacies will be recommended to the Head of State.
The State Prize laureates will be awarded on the eve of the Republic Day.
