State Commission for Full Rehabilitation of Political Repressions Victims completes its work
Under the chairmanship of Kazakh State Counselor Yerlan Karin, the final meeting of the State Commission for the Full Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repressions took place, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
The meeting summed up the results of the work of the State Commission and its regional branches.
The participants of the meeting noted that the activity of the Commission allowed for systemic comprehensive work to rehabilitate the victims of mass political repressions that took place in the 20-50s of the 20th century.
Over 2.6mln documents and materials have been declassified as a result of the Commission’s work.
As a result of the work of the Commission, over 311 victims of political repressions have been rehabilitated within the current legislation.
The Center for the study of the 20th-century political repressions materials is to take over the Commission’s research work.
