Soyuz manned spacecraft launched to ISS
The international crew of the ISS 33/34 next long-term expedition comprising Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky, Yevgeny Tarelkin and NASA astronaut Kevin Ford are on board the Soyuz TMA-06M ship. Their orbital mission will last for over four months, Itar-Tass reports.
This is the first space flight for the crew commander Oleg Novitsky and flight engineer Yevgeny Tarelkin, and Kevin Ford already has space flight experience. In 2009, he was the pilot of space Shuttle Discovery that delivered to the ISS the Leonardo Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) that is used for the storage of almost seven tonnes of research equipment, spares and supplies.
The docking of the Soyuz spacecraft with the ISS is scheduled for 16:35, Moscow time, on October 25.
