Some 24,000 babies born in Almaty region with boys more than girls
23,852 babies were born this year in Almaty region, of which 219 are twins and one set of triplets, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Karasai, Ili, Zhambyl, Enbekshikazakh and Talgar districts are taking the lead in the region.
12,139 baby boys and 11,713 girls were born in the region this year.
According to deputy head of the regional healthcare department Leyla Serikbayeva, the Yenbekshikazakh district hospital opened a 26-bed neonatal intensive care unit and a 30-bed unit in Karasai district.
As earlier reported, a 32-year-old Sholpan Mamasheva, mother of five, gave birth to two baby girls and a boy. Notably, she welcomed her second triplets.
It is worth noting over 390,000 babes were born in Kazakhstan in 2023. On Republic Day 850 babies, including seven twins, 424 boys and 416 girls were born in Kazakhstan.
Notably, as of November 1, the population of Kazakhstan grew by 210,139 people since the beginning of the year to reach 20, 243,981 people.
Of which 12,727,404 live in urban areas and 7,516,577 in rural areas. According to statistics out of 20, 243,981 people 10,353,239 are women, and 9,890,742 are men.
