Some 20 books by Kazakh writers published in Uzbekistan in 2024
The Council of Kazakh Literature of the Union of Uzbekistan Writers held a reporting meeting in Tashkent, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The participants summed up the results of work and discussed the opportunities for strengthening the Kazakh-Uzbek ties in literature.
“Some 20 books by Kazakh writers were published in Uzbekistan last year. A half of these books were released with the assistance of the publishing houses of Kazakhstan. This proves the deepening of ties between the countries,” Chairman of the Council of Kazakh Literature Turssynali Akhmetov said.
In 2024, books by Abdula Rustemov (Kairan Dunie), Saparbek Imanbekov (Dostarymyz Zhyrlaidy), Zharaskan Myrzamuratov (Aqiqattyn Dami Aschy) and Lola Zhumanova (Karasu Zhyrlary) were published in Uzbekistan.

“Zharaskan Myrzamuratov and Lola Zhumanova were named the winners of Uly Dala international competition organized by the Otandastar Foundation and the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan. The winners became the members of the Union of Uzbekistan Writers. Poet Koshkarbay Baizhigitov also joined the Union as its member,” Turssynali Akhmetov said.
Some 70 Kazakh writers are living in Uzbekistan today, 13 of them are the members of the Union of Uzbekistan Writers.
Last year, Turssynali Akhmetov was awarded the certificate of the member of the Union of Uzbekistan Writers.
The works by Kazakh writers are disseminated at the Kazakh-language schools in Uzbekistan.
Earlier, it was reported that the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbaiuly will be widely celebrated in Uzbekistan.
