SINGAPORE. July 13. KAZINFORM Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) opens the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Climate Symposium on Monday, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
According to TV broadcaster Channel News Asia, the symposium brings together over 50 climate experts from all sectors to address new challenges on managing climate-related risks and explore the necessity of emergency preparedness in the face of ever-changing climate conditions.
NEA's chief executive officer Andrew Tan, opening the meeting on Monday, said the symposium is timely as it takes place a few months before a global meeting in Copenhagen to draw up a pact to tackle climate change, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.chinaview.cn for full version.
