Silesia in Poland eager to expand cooperation with Kazakhstan
"We are pleased with high rates of development of your country and are interested in establishing direct ties with Kazakhstan regions" M. Sekula said at a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erik Utembayev, which took place on July 5 in the regional capital Katowice.
In this regard M. Sekula expressed his full support to the idea of organizing the first Forum of the regions of Kazakhstan and Poland.
Silesia is one of the most densely populated, industrialized regions of Poland. For a long time the basis of its economy has been coal mining, but in recent years has made significant progress in high-tech industry development . As promising areas of cooperation with Kazakhstan Marshalek M. Sekula called production of mining equipment, security operations in coal mining, medicine, science and education, transportation and logistics.
Kazakh diplomat briefed on the basic provisions of "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy, reform of local government, for development of which widely has been used the Polish experience, the State Program of Forced Industrial-Innovative Development and the associated opportunities for Polish entrepreneurs to invest in promising sectors of the Kazakhstan industry.
At the end of the talks Mr. Sekula received an invitation to visit Kazakhstan leading the business delegation of the province, and he, in turn, expressed hope for Kazakhstan's participation in the European congress by representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, which will be held in September in Katowice.
