ASTANA. August 4. KAZINFORM Shooter from Kazakhstan Olga Dovgun did her best to advance in Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions Qualification in Shooting on Saturday (August 4) at the Royal Artillery Barracks, London.
Day 8 of the XXX Summer Olympiad in London, however, was not successful for Kazakh Olympian.
Kazakhstani 'sniper' earned 578 points in prone, standing and kneeling and was ranked 24th in overall qualification. To qualify for the final Olga needed to be featured into the top eight shooters.
"Olga took the 24th spot and scored 578 points," Anvar Yunussmetov, head coach of the national shooting team, told press service of the Astana Sports Department. "She was well prepared. But this is sport. Olga was ready to show the best result and fight for medals in the final. Today, however, luck was not on our side. But she did not give up. She proved she is a true fighter. Olga fought to the finish."
