Shanghai group summit to open in Urals on Monday

YEKATERINBURG. June 14. KAZINFORM An international press center for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), scheduled to be held on June 15-16 in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg, started its work on Sunday, Kazinfrom refers to RIA Novosti.
"Over 700 representatives of Russian and foreign media organizations have been accredited for the SCO summit, and meetings within the format of BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China)," Russian presidential spokesperson Maria Sergeyeva said.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization comprises Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The group primarily addresses security issues, but has been widening its remit to embrace economic and energy projects, Kazinform cites RIA Novosti. See en.rian.ru for full version.
