Shanghai EXPO-2010 shares experience with Astana EXPO-2017

The Kazakh delegation held talks with the leaders of the Shanghai State Investment Company «EXPO Development Group». The company manages control and use of pavilions and facilities after the exhibition - Shanghai Expo 2010. There were also carried out "round tables" with the reps of the «ZTE» telecommunication corporation, the leading construction companies «Beijing Capital Group» and «China State Construction Engineering Corporation». The parties discussed the issues of the forthcoming EXPO-2017 in Astana, the prospects for further cooperation and exchange of experience.

R.Zhoshybayev, the Commissioner of the EXPO - 2017, also met with the management of the tourism and the People's Government of Shanghai city and the leading tourist Corporation of China - "Jin Jiang" which are responsible for tourism cluster including Expo-2010.

According to the organizers Expo-2010 was visited by over 73 million people (3.5 million of whom are foreign visitors). Chinese colleagues shared their experience of the Shanghai exhibition and supported the launch of direct flights between Astana and Shanghai. Following the meeting the sides agreed on further cooperation in the tourism potential of Kazakhstan.

On May 18 the Kazakh representatives will participate in the inspection of the Shanghai Expo-2010 exhibition area and take a tour on the retrospective exhibition - Yeosu.

Expo in Shanghai is recognized as one of the most successful. Despite the global financial crisis, the exhibition enabled China to attract more investments to different sectors of economy and to introduce advanced technologies and innovation leading technologically developed foreign countries.
