SES will give new impetus to Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation, Andreichenko says
The Belarusian Speaker stressed that Belarus and Kazakhstan have considerable economic potential. In his view, the Single Economic Space opens up new prospects for the economies.
Vladimir Andreichenko expressed confidence that the negotiations across all issues of bilateral cooperation will be productive. Commenting on the immediate tasks that need to be addressed by the MPs of the two countries, Vladimir Andreichenko noted the need to establish a legal framework.
In turn, the Chairman of the Parliament of Kazakhstan noted that at present, cooperation between the two countries is increasingly active in all areas. "Our economic cooperation is raising the highest level. There is no alternative to integration today. The whole world is uniting!" Ural Mukhamedzhanov said. He also noted that economic integration helps countries confront contemporary challenges and threats.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Kazakhstan were established on 16 September 1992. The countries maintain an active dialogue at various levels. They hold regular meetings within the framework of the CIS, EurAsEC, and the CSTO. Last year Belarus-Kazakhstan bilateral trade increased 2.2 times. In January-August the trade amounted to $526.9 million, up 5.1% as compared to the same period last year. Over the past few years Kazakhstan and Belarus have organized assembly plants of Belarusian tractors, grain harvesters and other agricultural equipment, elevators and furniture; Kazinform cites BelTA.
