Series of bombings leave 12 dead in Iraq

BAGHDAD. November 14. KAZINFORM At least 12 people have been killed in a series of bombings across Iraq, police and medics say, on the eve of the Islamic month of Muharram.

The AFP news agency cited officials as saying five car bombs and roadside bombs had exploded in the capital, Baghdad, and three other cities.

In the deadliest attack, at least three bombs went off simultaneously in Kirkuk, killing at least five people.

Muharram is the holiest month of the Shia Muslim religious calendar.
