Seoul's G20 summit committee unveils official symbol

SEOUL. July 8. KAZINFORM South Korea's committee for the G20 Summit on Thursday unveiled the official symbol for the G20 Seoul Summit, to be held on November 11-12, 2010, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

"The official symbol represents Korea's commitment to furthering the work of the G20, and helping to guide the world economy beyond the financial crisis," said Sakong Il, Chairman of the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit.

The symbol, which incorporates two images of the sun rising over the East Sea and a traditional Korean lantern, will be used to welcome the leaders who will be participating in the G20 Seoul Summit, the committee said in a press release.

South Korea is now in preparation for holding the G20 Summit during which the country hopes to direct the way for the global economy.

"The upcoming November Seoul Summit will be a meaningful event where countries will present the direction to head for after the crisis," Sakong said, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
