Senators of Kazakhstan and Canada discuss Kazakhstan’s candidacy for non-permanent member of UN Security Council

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Today Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met with the delegation of the Parliament of Canada, headed by co-chair of "Kazakhstan-Canada" Parliamentary friendship group Leon Benoit, the press service of the Senate informed.
The two sides discussed the possibility of strengthening cooperation on bilateral basis and within the framework of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
"Canada attaches great importance to collaboration with Kazakhstan. Active interaction of parliamentarians of the two countries gives impetus to bilateral relations", Leon Benoit said.
"Taking into consideration the extensive experience of Kazakhstan in nuclear disarmament, confidence-building measures and securitization in Asia, efforts to promote inter-religious and inter-ethnic dialogue, our country will be able to make a significant contribution to overall endeavors to promote peace and security", K.Tokayev said.
