Senate to consider ratification of protocol on accession of Bulgaria and Romania to Coop Agr't between Kazakhstan and EU

ASTANA. June 8. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The Committee for International Relations, Defense and Security of the Parliament of Kazakhstan considered a draft law "On ratification of the Protocol to the Partnership Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Kazakhstan, of the other part, on the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania to the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation" on Tuesday.
Bulgaria and Romania joined the European Union on January 1, 2007. The Protocol was signed in September 2008 in Brussels.
According to Kazakh Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantin Zhigalov, due to the ratification of the Protocol Kazakh investments to oil processing industry of Romania will automatically become investments to the European Union's infrastructure. Besides, we have close economic relations with Bulgaria. About 40 Kazakh-Bulgarian joint ventures operate in Kazakhstan.
After the discussion the Committee decided to submit the draft law for the consideration of the Senate.
