Senate Speaker receives Deputy FM of Great Britain

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Chairman of the Senate Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Faith and Communities, member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.
This has been reported by the press service of the Senate. The two sides exchanged views on the modern development of Central Asia, the situation in Afghanistan and the Ukraine and negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program. Senate Speaker stressed the important role of international institutions such as the UN and the OSCE in the handling of crises. He urged the international community to support the parliamentary settlement of the Ukrainian crisis which came to a very dangerous phase of military confrontation. During the meeting it was agreed to intensify the exchange of visits of the Kazakh and the UK parliamentarians.
