Senate Speaker, CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly?s Secretary General meet in Astana

At the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction with successful development of the Kazakh-Russian interparliamentary cooperation and results of interaction within the framework of international parliamentary organizations. The Secretary General informed the Kazakh Speaker of the results of the 32nd plenary session and sitting of the Council of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, told about the resolutions adopted. There was held an exchange of opinions on prospects, further increase of the role and activation of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly?s activity and etc. At the meeting the sides stated similarity of the positions on the most issues discussed. In particular, K.Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan has always stood for a necessity of balanced approach to evaluation of some historical events allowing to avoid unnecessary politicization. In this connection M.Krotov expressed confidence that the upcoming Kazakh chairmanship in the OSCE will promote improvement of the activity and increase of the role of this Organization within the framework of all its dimensions. Finally, K.Tokayev expressed gratitude to M.Krotov for his activity on development and strengthening interparliamentary cooperation between the CIS member-states.
