Senate Speaker announces that President did not sign amendments to legislation on 'leader of nation'

ASTANA. June 4. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev did not sign the amendments to the legislation on consolidation of the status of Leader of the Nation - First President of Kazakhstan initiated by the Majilis deputies. Senate Speaker Kassym-Jomart has announced it today.
The Speaker read out the President N. Nazarbayev's address to the people of Kazakhstan and Parliament deputies concerning the initiated bills. The President expresses gratitude for the recognition of his merits and high trust. The President emphasizes that the status of the Head of State should not be acquired only through legislative acts.
