Senate ratified Extradition Agr't between Kazakhstan and Spain
First Deputy Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Johan Merkel noted the signing of the Agreement became possible due to friendly relations of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and King Juan Carlos I of Spain.
The Kingdom of Spain became the first country that signed the agreement on extraction with Kazakhstan.
The Agreement regulates the relations between the competent authorities of the sides on extradition of persons wanted for criminal prosecution or for enforcing a sentence of extraditable offenses.
In accordance with the Agreement, the sides agree upon a written request to give each other's entities within their territories, hiding from criminal prosecution, as well as deviating from punishment. In addition, the agreement provides for specific grounds for granting and denying it.
