Senate elections over - CEC Chairman

TANA. August 19. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ The Senate elections have been held. Chairman of Kazakhstan Central Election Commission Kuandyk Turgankulov has made it public at a briefing.
"Today, on August 19, in accordance with the Law of the President of Kazakhstan all regions of the country as well as the cities of Astana and Almaty carried out elections of 16 deputies for Senate seat," K.turgankulov said.
Besides, he added, that 52 international observers, 10 representatives of foreign mass media, 99 trustees of the candidates, observers from political parties and public associations as well as 210 representatives of domestic mass media monitored vote counting and summing results of the voting.
The final results of the Senate elections will be announced in the first half of the day on August 22.
