Senate adopted amendments to some constitutional laws on elections

"The bill aims at implementation of the amendments introduced to the Constitution of Kazakhstan and providing an opportunity for holding early Presidential elections", Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Talgat Donakov said presenting the bill.

He said that the amendments were introduced to the Constitutional Law "On elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan". According to the amendments, the snap presidential elections are called by the decision of the President and be held in a two-month period after they are called. The procedure of the snap presidential elections is defined by the Constitutional Law "On elections in Kazakhstan".

The amendment introduced to the Constitutional Law "On President of Kazakhstan" provides that in case of snap election the President takes an oath in a month after official publication of the election results.
