Seminar for judges on combating human trafficking to convene in Astana
This seminar for some 35 district judges is an event in a series of seminars aimed at building capacity of local judges in the fight against human trafficking by offering them an overview of international legal instruments against trafficking in persons and trafficking-related cases. Participants will learn best practices of Turkey in overcoming obstacles of gathering and examining evidence in human trafficking cases. They will also have the opportunity to discuss questions of restitution and compensation for damages caused to victims of human trafficking and classification of crimes associated with human trafficking. The seminar is part of Centre's longstanding efforts to strengthen the protection and support of human trafficking victims, the OSCE Centre in Astana said.
