Security Council held session chaired by President

ASTANA. October 8. KAZINFORM /A session of the Security Council chaired by the Head of the State has been held in Astana today. Issues of the security situation at the strategic facilities and critical infrastructure in the country were discussed at the session, the presidential press service reports.

Chairman of the National Security Council spoke on this topic at the session.

The President paid special attention to the necessity of taking measures on provision of industrial and fire safety, implementation of preventive activities, modernization of the legislative base in this field.

Issues regarding activity of funds half-owned by the state and development institutes, use of public funds aimed at strengthening of the Kazakh economy, promotion of the banking sector stability, solution of social problems were discussed at the session as well.

Chairman of the National Welfare Fund Kairat Kelimbetov made presentation on this topic.

Chairman of the Accounts Committee for the Control over Execution of the National Budget Omarkhan Oksikbayev reported on the results of inspection of funds established with participation of the state.

The President emphasized that the Government invested huge funds to these institutes and holdings, in this regard it was necessary to provide monitoring and control over the effective activity of these organizations.

Upon the results of discussions N.Nazarbayev charged the Government, judicial, law-enforcement and other interested state bodies to take necessary measures on realization of set tasks.
