Sectoral energy efficiency plan for housing and utilities sector to be developed in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. February 27. KAZINFORM The Complex Plan on energy efficiency that has been approved by the Government of Kazakhstan includes 47 activities. 10 of them are directly connected with energy saving in the housing and utilities sphere, the press service of Centre for the Development and Modernization of Housing and Utilities (KazCentre) reports.

Currently, the Agency for Construction, Housing and Utilities works on development of draft legal and normative documents that will include new requirements for materials, equipment, methods and be aimed at energy conservation in the sector.

Sectoral energy efficiency plan for the housing and utilities sphere is expected to be developed within the Complex Plan on energy efficiency. Houses and social and cultural facilities will be inspected to in order to continue the thermal modernization within the Housing and Utilities Modernization Program till 2020.  As a result of these measures, the criteria of energy efficiency and thermal modernization of public organizations will be developed, the press service of the KazCenter reports.  

Besides, 25 specialists-energy auditors undertake training presently. The training is conducted on north European ENSI program that is adjusted to Kazakhstani climate conditions.

One of the key tasks is construction of three Centers of energy conservation in Astana, Almaty and Aktobe. These Centers will be equipped with advanced energy efficient and energy saving equipment, energy and resources saving technologies will be introduced there, according to Kazakh Prime Minister's website http://pm.kz/ .
