Section of Almaty-Khorgos highway to be put into commission in 2012

ORGOS. December 2. KAZINFORM /Sandugash Duissenova/ A section of the Almaty-Khorgos highway, which is under construction within the Western Europe-Western China program, is to be put into commission in 2012.

Kazakh Minister of Transport and Communications Berik Kamaliyev has announced it within a working visit of Vice Prime Minister-Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev.
"The current Almaty-Khorgos highway will be reduced by 60 km, the road construction will proceed in four sections. The total length of the new highway will make 304 km. The road will meet world standards," B.Kamaliyev said.
The total cost of the Almaty-Khorgos section makes KZT 184 bln.
