Secretary General of the Turkic Council Hasanov met with the diaspora representatives based in the USA

Ambassador Halit Çevik, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Turkey to United Nations, Ambassador Yashar Aliyev, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to United Nations, Raushan Yesbulatova, Consul General of Republic of Kazakhstan in New York and Mr. Ertan Yalçın, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in New York participated at the said meeting and expressed their views regarding the importance of the diaspora issues. Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to United Nations also presented at the meeting.

As the main speaker of the meeting, Secretary General Hasanov, informed the diasporas about the activities of the Turkic Council not only on diasporal issues but on the activity of the Council with respect to the concept of the meeting, on the Regional Centres including the one already operating in Kiev, and other Centres which are planned to be open in Germany, France and the USA.

During the Q/A session, the Vice President of the Federation of Turkish-American Associations noted the importance they attach to Turkic Diaspora and announced the audience that, 2015 Turkish Day activities and the traditional Ball will be held on 15 May 2015. The event will be themed "Turkic World" and will be dated to the Secretary General's visit.

At the end, Secretary General Mr. Hasanov expressed his gratitude to the Consul General Yalçın for the hospitality of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey.
