Second criminal case opened over murder of girl in Pyatigorsk

PYATIGORSK. July 26. KAZINFORM The investigators have opened the second criminal case over the raping of Anna Prokopenko, 9, in Pyatigorsk. This criminal case was combined with the previous criminal case over murder, after the forensic expertise found the traces of sexual violence against the child, when she was alive.

Detectives, criminal experts and operatives continue to work in Pyatigorsk. They are taking all the efforts to expose and find the whereabouts of the criminal, who raped and killed the little girl, Itar-Tass.

On July 23, at about three hours in the afternoon Anna Prokopenko went out from her flat into the yard in Pushkinskaya Street in Pyatigorsk and did not come back. About 300 people, including policemen, the staff of the military unit, Cossacks, workers of territorial emergency services and security guard agencies were involved in the search for the girl. Anna was found dead on the next day on the Mashuk Mount. The forensic expertise found that the girl had been raped. According to preliminary reports, the child died no less than a day before she was found dead. According to the murder theory, the rapist has been keeping and torturing his victim in the closed room for several hours, then he suffocated her and brought to the forest.
