The parties focused on state and prospects of the Kazakh-American cooperation in political and trade-economic spheres.

"First of all, I would like to note the dynamics of development of the Kazakh-U.S. relations which are one of the priorities of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. We are especially pleased that the new U.S. administration is interested in further strengthening our traditional strategic partnership", K. Saudabayev said.

"We have discussed the issue of stabilization of Afghanistan and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. We also exchanged views on most urgent issues of regional geopolitics", R. hoagland said at a briefing following the meeting.

As is known, the USA is the largest investor of Kazakhstan and one of its largest trade partners. Trade turnover between the two countries made USD 2.5 bln last year. About 100 joint enterprises and 300 American companies are funcitioning on the Kazakh territory to date.
