SCO Sec-Gen: Sustainable development of SCO states - factor for ensuring stability in Eurasia
"The SCO member states have a significant combines market, mineral resources, a strong industrial base and scientific-technical potential. Due to the opportunities and resources our countries are able to strengthen economic ties in the Eurasian region", M. Imanaliyev noted.
According to him, modernization and diversification of the economy, improvement of transport infrastructure in this region will create all necessary conditions for the enhancement of its potential as a transnational bridge and give a new impulse to the development of economic relations between Europe and Asia.
The Secretary General noted that the SCO had 20 specialized bodies dealing with the issues of economic cooperation and expert groups for customs issues, modern information technologies and transit potential development. "The SCO actively cooperates with other international organizations. The sustainable economic development, growth of welfare in our countries and solution of employment problems are the most effective factors for ensuring peace, security and stability in Eurasia", he resumed.
