Samruk-Kazyna considers implementing 83 investment projects for US 51 billion

"Today the investment portfolio of the Fund includes 100 projects worth $ 81 billion, 27 projects of which have been  commissioned and are operating for national economy. 73 projects worth $ 71 billion are in the active stage of realization. At present possibility of implementing another 83 investment projects worth 51.7 billion dollars is being worked out", reported B.Beisengaliyev in Astana at a meeting related to "Samruk-Kazyna" NWF JSC investment results of 2012 and the 2013 targets.

According to him "Samruk-Kazyna" pays great attention to investment of projects with high growth potential, i.e. in the area of ​​alternative energy, chemicals and petrochemicals, transportation, infrastructure, engineering, IT-technology projects with an innovative component and transfer of advanced technologies. "Among 27 placed in service projects the Moinak plant with a capacity of 300 MW may be particularly noted. Last year the plant produced 1 billion kW / h of electricity that reduced and solved the problem of energy shortage in the southern regions of Kazakhstan. There are projects in the field of transport, alternative energy, construction of a sulfuric acid plant in Stepnogorsk, refinery in Astana, the Balkhash thermal power plant and others," said the managing director of the company.
