Sales turnover between Kazakhstan, CU partners significantly increased - Smailov

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Over the past five years sales turnover between Kazakhstan and its Customs Union partners has increased by 53%, according to Chairman of the Statistics Committee Alikhan Smailov.

"Sales turnover with the CU member countries has increased by 53% over the past five years. As for export with these countries, it has grown by 45% over the same period. Import has increased by 56%," Mr. Smailov said at a press conference at the Central Communications Service on Wednesday. The head of the Statistics Committee under the Ministry of National Economy also added that sales turnover between Kazakhstan and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member states totaled $2,26 billion in January-February 2015, that is 19,3% less, compared to the same period of 2014. "Export amounted to $539 million and dropped by 34%. As for import, it made $1,72 billion and dropped by 12,9%," he said.
