Sale of cigarettes to be suspended in Dubai for one day

ABU DHABI. May 30. KAZINFORM - Over four hundred business entities in Dubai (UAE) have agreed to suspend the sale of tobacco products in the twenty-four hours in the entire emirate in support of the celebration of World No Tobacco Day.
The ban will take effect from midnight on 31 May to 1 June 2013. Their consent to stop the sale of cigarettes have expressed the majority of petrol stations in the emirate of Dubai and the major supermarket chains. The initiative is promoted annually by the municipality of the city of Dubai.
World No Tobacco Day is celebrated since 1988 on May 31. This date was proposed by the World Health Organization at the 42nd World Health Assembly.
