Sadyr Zhaparov to take part in SCO Summit in Astana

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov will make a working visit to Astana (Kazakhstan) on July 3-4 to take part in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the head of the foreign policy department of the presidential administration, Muratbek Azymbakiev told, Kabar reports.

“The leaders of the SCO countries will discuss important issues of multilateral and multi-vector cooperation in the organization’s format, as well as issues of regional and international politics.

Following the results of the summit meetings, the Astana Declaration of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be signed.

It is also planned to sign agreements and documents aimed at strengthening interaction between SCO member countries in political, economic, energy and other spheres, as well as expanding and improving the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Much attention will be paid to environmental issues, regional and international security, and the further development of digital technologies in promoting trade and economic relations and tourism.

The work of the council, chaired by the Kazakh side, will be attended by the heads of the SCO member states - Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, China, Pakistan, India, as well as Belarus, which at this meeting is awaiting completion of the procedure for obtaining the status of an SCO member state.

On the sidelines of the SCO, Sadyr Zhaparov will hold bilateral meetings with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh,” said Muratbek Azymbakiev.
