Sadyr Zhaparov ratifies Treaty on Deepening and Expanding Allied Relations between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov has signed the Law “On ratification of the Treaty on Deepening and Expanding Allied Relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan,” signed April 19, 2024 in Astana, Kazinform News Agency reports citing KABAR.

The law was adopted by the Zhogorku Kenesh on October 30, 2024.

The primary objective of the document is to further strengthen the Kyrgyz-Kazakh good-neighborly relations in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership.

The Treaty complements the Eternal Friendship Agreement dated April 8, 1997 and the Treaty on Allied Relations dated December 25, 2003, and opens new opportunities for further development of the bilateral interaction.

The document is expected to give an additional impetus to the comprehensive development of the bilateral interaction in the political, military-technical, economic, investment, transit and transport, water and energy, scientific-technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in migration and ecological security between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
