BEIJING. KAZINFORM Tourism officials of South Korea and China held a conference here on Monday during which they discussed ways to further boost tourism between the two nations, organizers said Monday.
About 30 government officials and industry representatives attended the one-day conference, jointly hosted by the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute and the China Tourism Academy, they said. South Korea has drawn extra numbers of Chinese tourists, helped by a gradual appreciation of the yuan currency and a rising popularity of K-pop culture, Yonhap reports. In the first three months of this year, the number of Chinese tourists who visited South Korea jumped 44.9 percent from a year ago to 1.04 million, according to South Korea's government data.
