S Kazakhstan to set up agro-industrial zone

ASTANA. KAZINFORM "An agro-industrial zone will be created in the South Kazakhstan region not far from Shymkent," governor Askar Myrzakhmetov said today in Astana.

"KZT 2,9 bln will be allocated to build a centralized infrastructure on a territory stretching over 62 ha. KZT 13 bln of private investments will be channeled in the zone to produce 25,000 tons of vegetables a year. 800 workplaces will be created there," he stressed. "Besides, the region works also at opening industrial zones. KZT 1,6 bln was earmarked this year to develop the infrastructure of industrial zones in seven districts of the region. 170 projects were realized under the industrialization map," he resumed.
